Our IT Management Consulting Group is growing and we’re currently seeking an experienced CPIC Business Process Consultant for a major Federal agency. The candidate will provide strategic and tactical direction in support of a $500M+ IT budget. The analyst will demonstrate excellent client handling skills with the ability to quickly develop relationships at all levels of the client organization.

This position will be 50% at the Client site in Washington, D.C., and 50% at PBG’s Headquarters in McLean, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability and flexibility to work on a range of different business areas as a consultant.

  • Provide performance analysis and benchmarking, with development or enhancement of performance measures/metrics.

  • Provide best practice assessments and augmenting efforts to align strategic documents with business plans, federal guidelines, and best practices.

  • Development of an in-depth working level briefing to articulate the IT Portfolio Management strategy.

  • Development of a Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) Plan.

  • Development of a CPIC Gap analysis report.

  • Development of Control and Evaluation Phase process flows, tools and templates.

  • Assist in technology assessments; identify risk and performance; assess strategic modernization efforts and plans.

  • Work in a project environment for a consultancy, conducting Business Analysis, Project Management and/or Change Management activities.

  • Consistent record of high quality delivery across the project lifecycle.

  • Strong stakeholder management, including advising and influencing clients regarding process improvement initiatives, and working positively and sensitively alongside client stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active secret security clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Engineering or another IT related field.

  • 5+ years of working experience with the CPIC process and managing/supporting large investments.

  • 5+ years of project and customer management experience in Federal Civilian consulting environment.

  • Strong combined knowledge and experience with cost models and Microsoft Project Professional.

  • Experience with industry methods for process improvement, organizational design, or performance optimization.

  • Exposure to different methodologies and approaches (e.g. PMP, Prince 2, Agile, Waterfall)

  • Knowledge or experience in documenting processes and recommending new and/or modified processes, as appropriate. Experience in facilitating, modeling and documenting development of current business processes or change to existing business processes

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Engineering, another IT related field, or similar field desired.

  • Software development and/or IT operations project management analysis experience.

  • Experience in tracking budget and activities for a product/project portfolio

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.

  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).

  • Proven experience in risk management, analysis and mitigation.

  • Proven experience in communications planning and execution.
